Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 19, 2026

VINspct ("we", "us") is a vehicle history platform available at vinspct.com. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and what happens to it.

What we collect

How we use it

Only to provide the service: maintaining your vehicles' histories, generating the reports you ask for, computing maintenance reminders, and operating your subscription. We do not sell your data, we do not show ads, and this website uses no analytics or tracking cookies. The only browser storage we use is what keeps you signed in.

The one thing to understand about vehicle history

VINspct is built so a vehicle's history follows the vehicle. Event records are attached to the VIN, not to your account — if the car is later owned by someone else on VINspct, its documented history remains with the car. Reports are only visible to others when you (or a later owner) explicitly create a share link. Your uploaded documents (registration, insurance, and similar) are different: they are private to your account and are never part of a shared report.

Where your data lives

Our infrastructure runs on Google Firebase (authentication, hosting), Google Cloud Storage (photos and documents), Railway (application servers and database), and Stripe (payments). Photos and documents are served through short-lived signed links rather than public URLs.

Deleting your data

You can delete individual events, photos, and documents in the app at any time. To delete your account and its private data, contact us at hello@vinspct.com. Event history that has become part of a vehicle's shared record is retained with the vehicle, consistent with the section above.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, we'll update this page and the date above.
